my semi-triumphant return

Helllooooo (I want to say Buglers but i think it's copyrighted) everybody! Well, I'm back. I have been thinking about blogging for most of the week now, but have lacked the motivation... needless to say any form of enthusiasm towards anything at all really. To answer your question: yes, I am still bummed about my car. It still has not turned up so it looks like I am officially without a car, and almost without money. We shifted house last week so I had the whole week off work and it was emotionally and physically exhausting but we are finally all in. hooray!

I am definately not feeling myself these days though, that's for sure. I am really lapping up the "i got the blues" vibe too. I guess i haven't had anything to be really upset about in a while, so i'm really milking my chance to act out my feelings. It's kinda funny. I come home from work (after being picked up from the station and driven home - eep) and collapse face down on the couch where I lay for a period of time longer than normal. I have also had a bath 'to relax' which I never do. I have also let Josh talk me out of going to my old house after work to clean, and i 'took a night off' instead and curled up on the couch to watch a movie in the dark. I haven't quite moved past the 'Feeling sorry for myself' stage into the 'the world is shit' stage in which you really identify with songs like 'People=shit' by slipknot or 'raindrops keep falling on my head' or some other morose shit song. I'm hoping that i won't get there, and instead I'll get sick of moping around soon and my old motivation flame will kick in. Then i'll get a second job working nights and borrow some money from my parents to buy a car, and vow to pay them back in 2 months, and then end up having an emotional breakdown one day at my normal job... that old chestnut. All I know is that I seem to be an emotional eater type. When I'm sad, all I want is bad food. Luckily I have a pretty strong will and have been having soup, fish, lamb and salad lately. But today is just so wet and miserable that I had THIS for lunch:

well... kind of! I only ate a bit. I'm taking the beef home for din dins. The bentoo had TAKOYAKI in it :D so good, haven't had them in ages!! The miso soup was yummy too!!

Ok so depression over and back on track to my usual post styllle, let me show you what I got up to last night. Josh's older bro turned 25 and naturally I had to get him a twilight related gift as we share the common interest :P I picked up this "Team Jacob" mug that changes design when you put boiling water into it. I also drew him some hilarious twilight pictures of the most cringeworthy moments from the film including: "The Cullens don't come here", "AS IF YOU COULD OUTRUN ME!", "This is the skin of a killer, Bella", "You brought Dessert..." (with the head tilt) and of course k-stews face. that says it all. He really liked it! I also wrote the obligatory in-jokes and movie quotes on his card. I wrote something along the lines of: Another year older, another year further away from Edward. Will he still want you when you're a grandma? I believe you're more of a Jacob man though, so when you blow out your candles tonight you should wish for him to imprint on you. I'll blow on the candles at the same time and wish that Carlisle adopts me :D Be careful when you open your present - you don't want to get a papercut otherwise Jackson Rathbone will lunge at you, but I've got your back bro, I'll gladly take the hit.

haha. I could have written more but ran out of room and Josh was already shocked at the height of obsession that became apparent the more i wrote. So here are Bradd and Josh putting on a strange slide-show demonstrating the workings of the mug. I don't know where Josh got the banana or glasses from. They just appeared haha

and this is me trying to get Josh in a photo with me and the mug...

he wasn't impressed.
Oh and here are some shoes I saw in the street next to work. There are so many!

if you believe the myth, there must be a lot of drug dealers around... hehe

new moon party and drifting

Pating, patong, patangatong! Hey Hop-a-long Cassidy! I had a really fun night last night at the NEW MOON screening at Maslin's house. Sure, it may sound lame to many of you, but who cares? Not meeeeee, that's who! I got to make all the lame jokes I could muster up - quickly followed by my own giggles and a few incredulous shakes of the head from around the table. Maslin* made an awesome lasagna for dinner, and of course I couldn't help myself and had to make reference to the quote "we're making italiano for you bella" from the first movie, and then I had to ask if anyone got my joke. They did.

*The lasagna was made by Maslin's mum - so technically a maslin did make it...

While we were waiting for dinner Michelle played the role of beatnik using my new 'beatnick cigarette holder'.

Very Audrey Hepburn, even though I really doubt hepburn was actually a beatnik. She just happened to have one in Breakfast at Tiffany's which was filmed around the time of the beatnik hype. And I don't associate those cigarette holders with beatnik culture anyway, i thought they were more like 1920's kinda scene. I don't really know.

Anyway, I also managed to get a DOUBLE edward photo. Pretty good.

Nobody wanted to get in a photo cuddling up to the poster cos they knew that photo would end up right here. Clever girls. There were even 2 boys there "much to their protest"... but they watched the whole thing with very little complaint. I'm onto you boys...

It was a night full of food and snacks, sighs, laughter, comparisons of whose face is stranger out of R-patz and taylor lautner, and hatred of k-stew- what more could I ask for? On my way out, I had to turn my car around so I started to execute a perfect 3 point turn utilising one of Maslin's neighbour's driveways. I kicked 'er into reverse, and was slowly releasing the clutch and slightly accelerating (as you do) when I almost stalled because of THIS! RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES!!!

Um, Maslin, were you aware that your neighbour is actually a vampire? I was not aware that a car dealership existed called "Blood Toyota"... maybe it's one of those exclusive motoring clubs just for vampeeries... in which case I wonder why they flaunt it on their cars? Probably just to rub my nose in it. Rrrrr!

Anywho.. tonight I am going to be having a rather unusual evening. It is perfectly normal, although it is not a sequence of activities I could have forseen myself partaking in. I like it. First, my little brother is coming to the city to meet me after work. This has never happened before. Then he and I are going to have dinner at Shanghai Dumpling House. Again, I don't know if we've ever gone out to dinner together before. THEN, my friends, THEN... we are going to the following event:
Now, I wouldn't say that cars are of particular interest to me. However, my brother DK happens to LOVE them. He has his mad skyline (pictured) which he is very proud of:
At one point he had a facebook album called "at the carwash" with about 90+ photos of his car at the car wash. It's kinda cute, but I still made jokes. He no longer has that album, I must ask him why :P Anyway he asked me to go with him so I though "why the hell not?". So tonight I will be rubbing shoulders with a bunch of rev-heads who I probably have nothing in common with. Well, I do know one guy in the movie. I used to work with him at my old job at the ZOO, and he has red hair and his name is Luke - more affectionately known as "Ginga". Poor guy. I ran into him when I was out one night and he told me that my mum (who now works at the zoo with him) gave him a Christmas card that said "Dear Ginga..." how embarrassing, I was mortified!

Anyway I'm sort of looking forward to this movie, as it's filmed in Japan and i think one of the Japanese crew will be there. I remember Luke telling me about his trip to Japan with his drifting crew, and he said that they bought cheap cars, drove them around until they were trashed, and then shipped the salvaged parts back home, oh and filmed this movie there of course. They stayed in the homes of Japanese drifter friends, and from the sounds of it had an amazing time! I might wake up tomorrow with a new found appreciation of fast cars. Although I'm sure a little part of me will still die when I'm in DK's car and it goes "tsu-tsu-tsu-tsuuuu" as he changes gears. Daniel said he will bring his camera tonight, but he doesn't mean his good one, i think he means this one:

hahaha will report back tomorrow!!
PS. Thanks for the Redskins Maslin, I'm eating one now, and it blasted me back to the canteen line at Primary School. Then i started thinking about Toffee Apple lollies :) mmmm

twilight and moths

Tonight is the night of nights my friends! My friend Maslin is hosting a twilight night! New Moon came out on DVD today and we will be watching it, along with a delicious dinner of lasagnaaaa. ("We're making Italiano for you, Bella") awesome!!! If i'm not mistaken, I think she and I are the only Team Edward peeps tonight. Everyone else appears to be in the stinky dog kennel that is team JACOB. i jest, i jest. Jacob's ok.

Anyway, I was thinking of bringing something funny along tonight so I googled twilight party and found this cool twilight party guide. jesus christ, a lot of thought went into that.

This gets me thinking about my birthday partayyyy this year. It's in June, and I will be turning 23. 23, wowza. I have lots of ideas floating around as I want a themed party this time. Pretty sure my last themed party was my 21st and it was Op-Shop Formal Dress. Was pretty funny! I think once I get some more definate ideas i'll do a post about it. Stay tuned for THAT!

Also I listened to another podcast from "The Moth" this morning, and it was great! It was an ex NYC cop called Steve Osborne telling one of his impeccably recalled stories from his 20 years of service in New York. He was this really funny, charismatic, wise-ass jester with a thick Brooklyn accent that just makes you smile. It seems as though he is a regulr, so I'd love to hear more of his stuff!

Cool artwork IMO. Check out the website for more info, it looks like quite a few celebrities have told stories for The Moth too! I got this from the website...

What is The Moth?

The Moth, a not-for-profit storytelling organization, was founded in New York in 1997 by poet and novelist George Dawes Green, who wanted to recreate in New York the feeling of sultry summer evenings on his native St. Simon's Island, Georgia, where he and a small circle of friends would gather to spin spellbinding tales on his friend Wanda's porch. After moving to New York, George missed the sense of connection he had felt sharing stories with his friends back home, and he decided to invite a few friends over to his New York apartment to tell and hear stories. Thus the first "Moth" evening took place in his living room. Word of these captivating story nights quickly spread, and The Moth moved to bigger venues in New York. Today, The Moth conducts eight ongoing programs and has brought more than 3,000 live stories to over 100,000 audience members.

Why "The Moth"?

The screen around Wanda's porch had a hole where moths would flutter in and get trapped in the light. Similarly, George and his friends found that the characters in their best stories would often find themselves drawn to some bright light—of adventure, ambition, knowledge—but then find themselves burned or trapped, leaving them with some essential conflict to face before the story could reach its conclusion. So George and his original group of storytellers called themselves "The Moths". George took the name with him to New York, where he hoped that New Yorkers, too, would find themselves drawn to storytelling as moths to a flame. They did. With no advertising, through sheer word of mouth, every show to date has sold out in 48 hours or less.

AWESOME! And you know what else is awesome? I am going to take pictures of this lovely night tonight and show you all in due time :D weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

what i found on my desk this morning...

look what I found on my desk today! twihards would get the joke on the postcard... i already smashed the easter bunny. Out work lunch isn't until 2pm... which is in 5 mins. I ate breakfast seriously hours ago. It feels like DAYS ago....

Here are my sausage rolls:

They are delicious! But so un-healthy! I was mixing the filling with my hands and they got SO covered in fat that when i tried to run my hands under water, the water slid off like water on a ducks back... gross. I should have made vegan ones and been all "SURPRISSSEEEE!!!"
Anyway off to lunch :D

it's shoe-time!!

this is making me so excited! my eyeballs are so dry from staring so intensly/intently at the screen. and how's about that witty title?? *high five*

aight so here's the story! Today i went le crazy on a girly shopping trip and bought an alarming number of things. you know things... those things you suddenly really need!? well i bought a lot of them. apart from buying 4 pairs of frilly knickers (pronounced in hugh grant's voice), 2 bras, a skirt, 2 'shoe organisers', a decorative cane basket, a falafel kebab, a set of 6 whiskey glasses for josh, 2 wine glasses to replace the ones i murdered, a new can opener to replace the one i also sent into the unforgiving abyss of the afterlife, i also felt the need to buy SEVEN PAIRS OF SHOES!!! "crazy!!!", "haha, i know, right!?" moving on!

surprisingly this didn't cost me heaps! i think i got 7 pairs of shoes for about $100. CIKR! (crazy, i know right). i am going to adopt that little acronym for the time being. genius! so here is me doing a combination of foot modelling and photography prowess... print these mental pictures on silk paper and rub them all over your body - then get on a webcam to me!! ohhhh yes

$19.95 - "rubi shoes"

$10 - the shoe gallery"

$10 - "the shoe gallery"

$10 - "the shoe gallery"

$10 - "the shoe gallery"

$39 - "the shoe gallery"

$10 - "the shoe gallery". $10 gallaz...!!!

for the whole gang is here, roll it out, roll it out, let's do the beer barrel polka!!! anyway these shoes are all awesome and reeeeally cheap! now you know why i had to buy 2 shoe organisers to fit them in!

anyway let me tell you what else is awesome right now: my dad bought me over about 12 heads of broccoli today and now i have to eat them! i gave a few away to mum and used one to add to the pasta sauce for dinner, but i still have lots! knowing me, i could throw them into the vegie patch out the back and somehow wind up selling broccoli for a living. i'll buy up all the land behind the house to expand into a proper farm. what an overgrown wonderland it would be. ewan mcgregor could star in a movie thats filmed there an the location! coooool! but then the cast of entourage might show up to hang out and i really dont want to see them.

anyway on another note- i have watched the twilight movie TWICE in 2 days. OMG CIKR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and here is what i thought about this movie: it is an abomination! i will go into WHY in another post, but abomonation aside,... i keep wanting to watch it. its like a quick fix, i need a hit man!! it wasnt as bad the second time, and i kind of love it by default due to its twilightness. haha oh well. oh and you know what! i have another celeb crush apart from robert pattinson!! it is the actor who plays 'jasper' - jackson rathbone. he is so daaaaaym hot, and then myself and hayden realised he reminds us of josh. woohooo! i am celeb crazy right now, i dont even know who i am anymore. i cant believe twilight has affected me so much. i think i need counseling of some sort. i'll be back to myself in no time :)

you know what else is awesome? dwight! so i'm going to go watch the american office for a bit because it's severely distracting me from my duty to serve you good people in blog form! adios muchachos, hasta la vista!

and i'm not even being dumb by saying that in an 'arnie' voice - it's a legitimate greeting in a legitimate language! hasta la vista! it sounds so much better in its native tongue :)

i apologise if you find this blog post a little crazy, i probably will too when i read it back tomorrow. OMG LOL CIKR

daftly diy: chalkboard dressing screen

So in my usual slow-paced fashion i picked up working on my DIY project again. If you can't cast your memory back to the B.C. Days when i started it... the original tale is here. So with the long weekend ahead of me i thought there was no better time than the present to finish off my BLACKBOARD DRESSING SCREEN!!

I was 95% finished, and just had to apply one more coat of blackboard paint and once it had dried, nail it into place into the recesses of the screen...

those were the little tacks i used, very cute. I don't look at handyman-ship the same way as normal people. nails are cute and sandpaper is just misunderstood. if only people could look past its rough exterior...

But i digress, here is my completed screen:

i have to think of something to do with the back now. i didn't realise i had somehow gotten paint on the crisp white underside. i still don't know how i managed to do it..

Also, although it doesnt fit in with the rest of the post, i saw this on the Astor Poster in the bathroom and had a bitovalol.

what. the. fuck. i can't say i have really seen Robert Pattinson act. I have seen him in harry potter but simply can't remember his performance. i cant imagine him playing salvadore dali. It is hard to look at him though. i wish i didnt know what "edward" looked like in movie form before i read the twilight books. i would have painted a very different edward in my head, that's for shizz. although because he is EDWARD i am in love with him a bit. a lot. i would die for him. mlit. not really but it does keep me extremely happy when reading about it or hurriedly and quietly talking about it with my fellow twilight friends. speaking of which, i am on my way to the end of the last book. what will i do after it...? i'll tell you what. the movies, thats what. then, i suppose i'll throw myself off a cliff and hope for Carlisle to come to the rescue and change me. sadly, and very unexpectedly MLIT.

monday magic

good day! I thought i should show you something else ~ very very very very very ~ exciting about my weekend: The passing of the torch... well, the 3rd twilight book...

(Before you say anything, my eyes were meant to be closed - that is my excited face!) Hooray! Thanks Maslin :) I have read the first chapter already. Still Team Edward *sigh* it is funny how this AGREEMENT to read twilight has turned into an obsession. It only took 2 chapters... haha. i don't know who i am anymore. Oh yes i do... i'm one of those twilight people...

Remember last week I was writing about "My Life Is Twilight" website? Well on Friday on my way home I was listening to some Mars Volta on shuffle and a song came on from their latest album Octahedron. I couldn't remember what the song was called so I checked, and wouldn't you know... it was called "With Twilight as My Guide". I almost choked on a laugh. I promptly messaged Dragana from work my little "MLIT" for the day.

The passing of the torch was conducted on the mutual ground at my friend Evan's 23rd Bday Party/Housewarming. It's quite belated as they moved there aggges ago, but that is inconsequential. What is of importance is my birthday card to him:

haha, laaame friend huh? oh well.
Anyway apparently my car is all fixed, the 'ignition module' has been replaced and it only cost me $120! My car probz isn't even worth that much hehe! To say thanks to my dad for rescuing me i want to cook a nice dinner tomorrow night. I don't have any ideas yet but i'm sure i will come up with some today!! Now i just have to keep focusing on saving up money to make improvements to my new house! Outdoor entertaining area, here i come!!!!! awwwww shit! (in zac de la roca's voice) yay!

le time has le come

Good Evening all you kawaii (cute) and SEKUSHI (sexy) beasties. So it has been an eventful day so far. In case you are interested, i awoke PRE-10am (on a saturday!) to do some last minute cleaning for the inspection, then settled in to read some more NEW MOON! It is getting good people, and I am still Team Edward fo shizz. Jacob can lick my bumhole.

After the inspection was over i decided to make Minestrone soup as well as vegan banana cake. I realised this would be a problem because i was out of onions and had to get some pear juice for the cake. So i hopped in my trusty car to zip down to the supermarket. I had nearly reached my destination when my car broke down. yes sir. after much stuffing around on my part calling my dad for help etc the RACV showed up and said i'd need to get it towed and that the ignition device or something was faulty. fuck. I ended up getting my onions etc and also got some chamomile tea so i could relax (yah riiiiight) and eventually got back home. I put Aladdin on to wash away the badness of this terribly annoying fucking stupid situation. i sung along to all my childhood faves as i made the soup and cake, and now i am really beat.

Chester was sitting beside me just now licking his groin, and it got me thinking of all the provocative poses he makes. i should take pics of him and sell it to other cats as porn.

Speaking of strange porn, here are some bike porn shots of my girl Mary-Jane:

oh mumma, check out those whitewall tires. oh yeah, grease up those chains baby. that's it, that's it, turn it up a gear! ok i may be freaking out.

Anyway i thought i should introduce you to sweet Mary-Jane (in a non pot-smoking way) as she is now my mode of transport for the next few days. Haha watch me be a hermit to avoid the physical exertion. Well i have to take some photos of the food i made. maybe tomorrow i'll put it up. I'm a bit flat atm tbh ttm omg.. enough of that!!! uhhh yes anyway i have my friends bday tonight and was goign to try to pincurl my hair or something cool but now i am too tired to even put pants on. just joking i am wearing pants :)

I have this theory. The world is punishing me for loving twilight. My relationships are shifting ever so slightly due to the fact that the person does or does not love it also. At work I have more to talk about with the 2 twilight girls. Last night at a girly sleepover it was all i could think about and i kept whispering to Maslin (who loves it too), nobody else cared for our secret edward whispers. Josh and Maki tease me, Maki calls it "Chick Crack" which is exactly what it is. I just can not stop. All these bad things seem to be happening lately though, apart from the car break in and break down i also BROKE the fucking can opener. who does that? i am being punished for being so happy whilst reading twilight sadly. ugh. got to go

February 26, 2010

MLIT = WOW

Haha, i got told about this site called "My life is Twilight" or "MLIT" today so I checked it out. It consists of random people describing how their whole lives revolve around twilight. Here are some of my faves:

The other day my youth group and I were asking each other funny questions about God. One of my guy friends asked "What kind of car does God drive?" I immediately yelled "A silver, Volvo." Oh yes... MLIT

Today in gym class we were playing sports trivia. My teacher asked me what major event happened in 1918, of course I replied "ummmm... Edward became a vampire!" Apparently that wasn't the right answer. 15 dirty looks later, it was still worth it! MLIT

Today, I realize the only reason I am dating my bf is because he looks and sounds like Jacob Black, but his name is Edward. MLITotallyT

Today, I realized that whenever I eat food, I feel guilty and regret it because I think it might make me seem unattractive to a vampire. MLIT

Today i was coughing like crazy and my brother comes running and yells in a joking way "Do we need to get you to a doctor?!" and all i can say between coughs is "CALL CARLISLE!!!" Its funny how the first thing that comes to my mind is twilight and not OMG im choking. MLI(always)T.

A month ago, my sister started dating someone who looks a lot like Edward Cullen. For the past month, I've been subtly flirting and "accidentally" pouring sparkles on him. Today, my sister found out, and she told me to stay away from her boyfriend. Nothing can stop the path of true love. MLIT

Makes me laugh. Makes me want to read more. Oh god, what has become of me?? ^_^

February 22, 2010

omg...

guess what?

aaahhh!!! Remember last week i finally caved in to Peer Pressure and borrowed a copy of twilight?? Well i started reading it on Saturday morning in my hammock. I had only read but 2 chapters before i had to go out and i was already CRUSHING on edward cullen hard. what the fuckkkk. this book is like drugz, man. it tickles the erogenous zones of the teenage girl inside me, and it goes to all those places i dreamed i could have gone to when i was 16 or whatever age the protagonist is! some mysterious dark and handsome stranger at my new school suddenly taking an interest in me... and wanting to ravage my flesh... in my dreams!

Anyway I had a fairly busy weekend so couldn't smash through it like i so wanted to, but i am over half way now and i dont ever want to stop reading it. it is only a matter of time before i get one of those t-shirts for real. and you know the funny thing... i never found robert pattinson appealing THAT much and lol'd when someone said his face was like a foot. But now... now... i would do things to that man. haha. listen to me, i'm giddy with teenage sexual frustration. i guess its lucky for josh that i'm reading this book huh? I have to channel my feelings somewhere right, or it will be just like highschool all over again! HAha i have said too much. But that's ok. I have been watching "Peep Show" lately and am loving the inappropriate 1st person perspective internal monologue. Brilliant. They say/think things you perhaps have thought but never admitted to yourself or put into words. Anyway, must fly! Got some sweet sweet twilight to read on the way home. Let's hope for once that there are severe train delays and i get to read more!! ^_^

Quintessential Reading

It's actually not that quintessential, but I noticed that i have no post titles beginning with the Letter Q, and it was the first Q word that popped into my head!

So yesterday i mentioned that i wanted to cook dinner last night. Well sirs, I certainly did. I got home and checked out the veggie situation and saw carrots, potatoes, celery, zucchini.... immediately i thought MINESTRONE. Luckily we had tinned tomatoes, and lots of tinned beanzzz! And of course we always have onion and garlic. They are like housemates numbers 3 and 4.

So Hayden helped me prepare all the vegetables then i started cooking a big batch spread over 2 pots! It was around 7.30pm when i remembered i had to add the frozen beans and peas so i went to get them from the chest freezer in the laundry. To my horror, i opened it and it seemed as though it had been turned off for a few days at least. Everything was melted/thawed/off. With the wedding and valentines day over the weekend we did no cooking, so never realised! Although Maki said he noticed a bad smell, and Josh said that on FRIDAY he thought the bread was not frozen when he got it out of the freezer. I will give him credit because this was at 5:00am when he was getting ready for work. So yes, I threw most things away but a few things were fine still. It was so annoying. Good old Hayden flew down to the supermarket to get me some beans and peas and more So Good Ice Cream (as we had to throw away 3 melted tubs of it) while i cleaned up the mess. So i have fixed the faulty plug issue and hopefully this doesn't happen again.

On the bright side, the minestrone was awesommmee! I didn't take a photo in all the confusion, and Josh's mum came around when i was almost finished cooking it. If there is some left over tonight i will take a picture and post the recipe :)

Also last night we watched MAJOR PAYNE - an old childhood fave. It was still funny, but probably not AS funny. Maybe a different kind of funny. Just like 'The Mask' :D besssstt!

Ok, so here at work we have a Birthday tradition. Of course we do cake, but we also do $2 presents. They are meant to be jokes but people always buy proper things. On our lunch breaks you will find us at the $2 shop scrounging around for the best thing. One time i got a someone a piece of artificial fruit. Today is Dragana's birthday. She's my age and thinks I am funny because I know some Serbian swear words and say them out loud and nobody but her and I know what they mean. I also have my own tradition for people's birthdays. I write them strange poems. For example I wrote one for Lucinda a while back, and now everyone hassles me for them. So i am part-way through Dragana's but i keep getting interrupted (damn work!!) haha. I suck. I think it all started back in 2007 when i let my creative side show and now everyone looks forward to their poems or cards. I have little enthusiasm for it now cos it's expected of me, but i still do it. I went through a "rap" phase where they all sounded like rap lyrics. pretty funny. I'll post dragana's poem later. i have a headache and have had no coffee so it won't be greaaaaat.

Also. Dragana is obsessed with many things... Harry Potter, Hannah Montana (and she teases me for loving Spongebob! FFFFSSSSSS) , and Twilight. Oh yes, twilight. Just like everyone in the world is obsessed with it... except me. I haven't read any of the books or seen any of the movies, and the girls at work have been putting the pressure on more and more in the leadup to the 3rd movie. This morning they were telling me i should read it and i protested again. Before, I was playing this game with Drags (Dragana) where I ask "If you were at Hogwarts, what house would you be in?" (she answered "hopefully Griffyndor") and then we got to talking about who we would rather kiss out of Harry or Ron. She said Ron, which surprised me, cos that's my answer too. She also said she would prefer to kiss the twins than Harry. I started screaming and calling her a freak, until she explained she meant the BOOK TWINS, not the MOVIE TWINS. Thank fucking christ! That's when I realised that this other girl Kate hasn't read or seen any HP, which upsets and angers me, so i made a compromise - I would read the twilight books if she reads the HP books. While i know that HP is amazing, i am not so sure about twilight. I dunno, i DO like vampires... but i was repelled by all the hype.

This is happening folks. I will be undergoing what could be a life changing experience. I will no doubt be wearing an "I *heart* Edward" t-shirt next week. I am a little nervous, a little apprehensive, BUT i am also ready to let go and be washed away in the potential coolness of the books.

oh god. well even if i become a FAN, i will never be like this friend of my cousin. She is in Year 12 this year i guess, but last year she threw a Birthday party FOR the character Edward. Apparently you find out his date of birth in the book...? It was complete with a cake, a viewing of the movie, and playing the board game. Sounds like... fun. Apparently she is a little TOO obsessed. I think she was the only one enjoying herself that night!

Anyway, must write this poem, good boo!
